Collagen
Collagen is a natural protein that provides
structure and support. It is found throughout the body - in muscle,
skin, tendon and bone. Fibres of collagen are woven together like
threads in a fabric, to form a framework into which new cells can
grow. In the skin, collagen provides texture, stability and
shape.
Intraderm uses Zyderm and Zyplast collagen. (We insist on a skin
test 4 weeks prior to treatment to ensure that it is suitable for
each individual.) This is made of bovine collagen derived from cow
skin. It is highly purified and is so similar to your own collagen
that it is accepted by your body and becomes an integral part of
your skin.
Injectable collagen was first used to treat patients in 1976. It is

Restylane

Following injection, the skin is stimulated to produce more and

few weeks of treatment in order to spread the new growth of cells
evenly. Treatments can produce results that can last for 2 years
and more.
No skin pre-test is required although due to the fact that this
product must be reconstituted days prior to administering it, full
payment is required on booking sessions and cancelled appointments
for this treatment cannot be refunded.
Radiesse
Radiesse is an injectable implant, composed of synthetic calcium
hydroxylapatite (CaHA) which is extensively used for plastic and
reconstructive surgery including subdermal soft tissue augmentation
and restoration of the facial area. It provides a matrix into which
the bodies own tissue can grow and maintain the implant in
place.
Radiesse has proven to be a very versatile facial contouring
product and has demonstrated durable augmentation in areas such as
the chin and cheek where a larger volume is required to bulkout the
surrounding tissue.
Depending upon the
intended augmentation, Radiesse can be used to accentuate facial
features that require more definition or soften facial features
where less definition is desired.

The Juvéderm® ULTRA range of products is a new

During treatment with
the Juvéderm® ULTRA range of
products
First, your medical aesthetic practitioner will clean the area
to be treated and may apply an anaesthetic cream. The
Juvéderm® ULTRA range of products has
an added anaesthetic, so there is less need to use a local
anaesthetic—but some medical practitioners may choose to apply
additional anaesthetic anyway to ensure the most comfortable
treatment possible.
The actual treatment takes from 15 to 30 minutes. Your medical
aesthetic practitioner will inject tiny quantities of the
appropriate Juvéderm® ULTRA product
using a fine needle below the line or wrinkle they are treating or,
during lip enhancement, into the edge of your lip. As the
anaesthetic takes effect you are likely to feel numbness and a bit
of tingling in the area that has been treated. After the injection,
your medical aesthetic practitioner will smooth the product down in
your skin by massaging the treated area.
After
treatment with the Juvéderm® ULTRA range of
products
Immediately after treatment, it's likely you will be a little
swollen—this is totally normal. While the changes you notice at
your first glimpse in the mirror may be bigger than you were
expecting, you shouldn’t panic. Once the swelling has gone down,
which could take a few days, you will see the final result.
Once your treatment is finished, your medical aesthetic
practitioner will give you some valuable advice on what to do (and
what not to do) after treatment. Most of this advice will be based
on personal experience and may include the following:
- Don't apply make-up for 12 hours afterwards
- Don't drink anything too hot or too cold (if you have had lip
treatment)
- You may see some swelling, bruising or redness at the injection
sites
- Use a perfume-free moisturiser if you have any dry skin
- If you have any concerns, contact your practitioner
- Expect to be invited back for a follow-up appointment after
around
2 weeks to make sure you are happy
So nothing too complicated. You should expect your new look to
last for up to 12 months in lines, and somewhat less in the lips.
However, everyone is different and this depends on some of your
natural biology.
Many patients notice that once they have had treatment their
friends, colleagues and family notice a difference, but can't put
their finger on what has changed. Treatment with the
Juvéderm® ULTRA range of products is a
subtle enhancement, rather than a radical change.
Many medical aesthetic practitioners will ask to see you again 2
to 3 weeks after your initial treatment, this is to make sure you
are 100 percent happy with your results. If needed, he or she may

Safety & Side Effects
We've mentioned the fact that hyaluronic acid
(HA) is a naturally occurring substance; it's actually a type of
sugar. So the product itself is very safe to add to the skin. It
has been used for a number of medical applications for many years
including joint problems, eye conditions as well as skin
lifting.
As with any treatment, there are a few minor
risks. The HA is injected using a fine needle, and there is a risk
of slight bruising, redness, bleeding or temporary discolouration

Training
Intraderm have a teaching link with some of the
leading companies in the aesthetic industry.
We provide practical hands -on training for delegates who have
attended the Q-Med courses, the Wigmore combined study day and The
Cosmetic Course run by Brent Tanner. We are also involved in a new
innovative teaching course for doctors and dentists using the
Sanofi-Aventis product Sculptra.
We run our own basic and advanced Muscle Relaxing
Injections and Dermal Filler courses that have been
designed to offer the best in clear concise information as well as
teaching inLondon with Harley Aesthetics.
Our course is a competency based and assessed course. This means
that we will observe and assess the level of knowledge and standard
of skills attained throughout the course. We will observe
consultation skills, injection skills and overall competency. You
will be required to perform a minimum of three treatments as part
of this course. You will be required to submit a case study on one
client of your choice detailing consultation, treatment and
aftercare. This must include a post-treatment assessment two weeks
later and a brief plan for future care
The course is intensive and so therefore, upon booking and payment,
a CD copy of the course is sent out for you to study prior to the
